There are two popular joint honours programmes in physics and philosophy.
Taught Postgraduate
There is a Philosophy of Physics pathway on the MA in Philosophy. This is suitable for students wishing to ‘convert’ to philosophy of physics from backgrounds in physics or maths.
Research Postgraduate
There is a thriving community of research students in philosophy of physics. Typically students have prior training in both physics and philosophy. Please contact james.ladyman@bristol.ac.uk or karim.thebault@bristol.ac.uk for more information before applying.
Some funding for PhD students is available through application to the SWWDTP scheme and the BSPS doctoral scholarship.
